Troutmere offers modern self-catering accommodation, only six kilometres from Belfast on a farm. The property provides a beautiful backdrop for nature lovers, in a landscape of beautiful natural surroundings.

The accommodation is provided in a large double-storey, set on the bank of a beautiful dam, with views of the dam and wetlands of Lakensvlei. The lodge has four en-suite bedrooms each with a fireplace and views of the wetlands. The downstairs level has an open-plan living area and two en-suite bedrooms. The upstairs area has two en-suite bedrooms and a TV area on the loft. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering and includes a double door fridge-freezer, microwave and all cutlery and crockery. This open-plan area is warmed by an indoor fireplace for those cold winter nights. The living area leads out onto a large wooden deck with braai facilities, facing the dam.

Guest are welcome to fish on a catch-and-release basis. The farm is also a bird lover's paradise with a total of 128 species to be encountered, including the waterfowl, secretary birds and cranes.

Magnificent by

The setting is magnificent and the accommodation was extremely comfortable. However the TV was not functioning and the servicing of the house was very poor which only arrived very briefly after we requested same on the first day, but did not arrive at all for the second day. Establishment Response Thank you for your review of Troutmere. With regard to the TV issue. We have never included a TV service at Troutmere. However, due to this review it was decided that the normal SABC TV channels would be made available. A satellite dish has been installed and guests may bring their own decoder should they wish to receive the DSTV channels as well. Troutmere offers self catering accommodation. A cleaning service is not included. However it is available at minimal costs, but guests must arrange and pay for this service upon arrival. Thank you again for your review.
