Tulbagh Country Guest House is our jewel in The Cape Dutch Quarters's crown. Established in 1999, the guest house can accommodate up to 12 people in five en-suite bedrooms and suites. The guest house manor is a classic H-shaped house offering the epitome of grand Cape Dutch living. It has been beautifully restored to its former glory and is situated on Tulbagh's historic Church Street.
The guest house offers three king-size luxury en-suite rooms, as well as a Family Suite which sleeps four people in two rooms with an en-suite bathroom. There is also a single suite with an en-suite shower and toilet. All mattresses are of the highest quality and our linen is 100-percent percale cotton. Most of the guest house rooms have private doors onto the garden and swimming pool, and guests are encouraged to make free use of all guest house facilities including the covered terrace braai area.
The guest house interiors are a blend of Cape and European antiques and furnishings, as well as original South African artworks which create a beautiful eye-catching collection. The atmosphere in the Tulbagh Country Guest House is informal and comfortable, and guests are encouraged to make themselves at home in the lounge, dining room and old farm-style kitchen. Breakfast is always a treat as it is served in the grand dining room on a table spread with antique crockery and silver cutlery. During the winter months, breakfast is served in the guest house's more intimate farm-style kitchen next to a blazing hearth.
Our beautiful neoclassically inspired swimming pool is a life saver after a hot summer's day, and the beautiful gardens lead through to shady courtyard spaces and calm sitting areas.
