Looking for a place to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, then this is the place for you. Located an easy five-minute walk from the Crocodile River (bordering the southern Kruger National Park), where elephant, lion, buffalo and even leopard are often sighted. Trails along this boundary fence, overlooking the river and Kruger, offer excellent opportunities for game viewing and bird watching. Over 350 bird species have been recorded in the area. Mountain bikes are also an ideal way of exploring these trails. Twitchers' Paradise is ideally situated for day trips into the Kruger National Park, and for those travelling to and from Mozambique and Swaziland. We are birder friendly and cater for birdwatchers specific needs (on request): early morning wake-up calls; flexible check-in and check-out times; supply bird checklists; have maps & reference materials available for use during your stay. Two very special bird species occur regularly on the property: Eastern Nicator and Stierling's Wren-Warbler. Other interesting species include: Retz's Helmet-Shrike, Cut-throat Finch and Bearded Scrub-Robin. 220 species have been seen on the property. Kingfisher Cottage is a one room open-plan cottage which can comfortably accommodate two guests. There is an en-suite bathroom with a shower. Linen and towels are provided (please note: there is one queen size bed in the cottage). The kitchenette has a bar fridge (extra freezer space is available on request), toaster, kettle and microwave. Cutlery and crockery is provided. There are braai facilities (including a fire pit and also a Skottel) available outside, adjacent to the cottage. Zebra, Impala, Giraffe, Kudu, Blue Wildebeest, Bushbuck, Grey Duiker, Banded Mongoose and Warthog roam freely and often visit the property. Bushbabies and fruit bats are regularly seen at the cottage in the evenings.
