Urban Camp is a centrally located comfortable camping ground situated in the heart of Windhoek. The camp is a mere five-minute walk from the legendary Joe's Beerhouse and a good Portuguese restaurant.

Urban Camp offers campsites under big shady trees, each with its own private bathroom and Wi-Fi Internet access. Guests can also relax around the large sparkling swimming pool. For added convenience, a small shopping centre with a bank, ATM, post office, supermarket, pharmacy, 24-hour fuel station, car wash, butchery and a café is all just around the corner.

Nice camp in Windhoek - Urban Camp by

We've been a night in the camp and enjoyed the stay with our rooftent-camper. Much space and nice hygiene facilities. We also were happy to get a cool beer in the bar at the reception while using the w-lan for Internet. And - surprisingly - the boss created perfect Thai Curries Wow!

We arrived just after 6PM and had to wait 20 minutes to be helped because there is no actual reception, the reception is the bar counter and restaurant too so you have to wait in the queue for people ordering food and drinks before you can be checked in. We asked and were told that the kitchen closed at 9PM. We unpacked and settled into our tent and went back to the restaurant/bar/reception at 20:10 and were told the kitchen had closed. When we queried why we were told it closed at 9PM they said, "the staff had a long day and just decided to close". It was chaos.

I booked camping for 3 vehicles (6 pax). when we got there only got given 2 camp sites.
