VERBE FARM ACCOMMODATION REVIEWS (90 %) Off the beaten track by Mark Fatherley, South Africa 20 March 2012 We had a short but fantastic stay, No noise, No TV, No electricity, just the faint sounds of the sheep bleating in the distant background.
Just what i was looking for, will definately be back for another round of forced relaxation.
Peter and Verencia were excellent hosts, always willing on helping.
I count down the days to the 2013 Cape Argus when i will be stoping in again at the Kliphuis (Verbe Farm),
Thank you for a great experience.

(Ladies - leave your hairdryers at home, you wont need them and you cant use them) Verbe verblyf by Andre Pretorius, South Africa 29 June 2012 Pragtige omgewing met wonderlike en vriendelike mense. Great place by Lydia Hesse 02 September 2017 Very friendly and helpful. We could go for long beautifull walks. Very cozy Awesome setting! by Cal Stevenson 28 September 2017 The farm is just what we needed. We stayed in Tillie's House which was charming and comfortable. Old enough to make you feel that you have gone back in time, with the decor to match. With no electricity, oil lamps and candles lit the rooms, yet the modern amenities of a gas stove, hot water, etc. were there. The night sky and the surrounding scenery was awesome! Our hosts, Pieter en Verencia are friendly, special people and when I stupidly got my van stuck in the sand on a road I should not have driven down, they were eager to solve the problem. We would most definetly stay there again! Great place to get away from it all! by Titilayo Helm 02 May 2018 My family and I spent four wonderful nights in Tillie's House on this very beautiful and peaceful farm. Set practically in the middle-of-nowhere to a majestic backdrop of natural beauty surrounding it on every side (mountains, rocks and the most amazing views of the moon at night), it's a great place to unwind and leave the hustle and bustle of the city behind. Only powered by solar energy, candles and lanterns, there no plugs for charging (only at the main house), no internet access and hardly any mobile signal. Kids need no jungle gym or play area, it's a great place to be outside, walking, hiking, biking, petting/seeing animals, climbing rocks and discovering everything and anything there is to discover.
A big plus for us was that dogs are allowed. There are only 4 houses and loads and loads of space. No privacy issues, no noise issues and no security issues. Everybody sleeps with the doors unlocked and leaves the doors unlocked. It is a very safe place and the owners and the few staff are extremely friendly.
It's also a great place to stay while exploring other areas of Namaqualand. It's only about an hour's drive from Namaqua National Park and Hondeklipbaai with it's charming residents, beachfront and ship wreck is also worth a visit.
All in all, a wonderful stay. The only suggestion I would give is to update the accommodations a bit. While it is charming to be in the old houses, our house needed repairs in some places and could use a bit of update. The house always felt cold even when it was warm outside and a little more light would really add a lot. The geyser in one of the bathroom stopped working twice during our stay and a staff member had to come fix it. Luckily there was another bathroom attached to another geyser which always worked. One of the toilets also had very little water pressure. In spite of that, we will definitely return. Absolute isolation by Andrea Roux 13 July 2018 Absolute bliss and quiet place in die middle of nowhere. The Kliphuis is a mist to stay. Fire, flowers and stars by Stefano Luigi Decadri 13 August 2018 The little stone house was clean, comfortable and romantic. The house host was very gentle. You can have a fire just outside the house, cook nd see the amazing stars. VERBE FARM ACCOMMODATION LOCATION
