VILLA ATLANTICA BOUTIQUE GUESTHOUSE REVIEWS (78 %) Terrific by Jj Van Nieuwenhuisen, South Africa 31 July 2006 We had a terrific stay at Villa Atlantica. The accommodations were superb and the service was excellent. Thank You! Excellent by Megan Maclean, 31 July 2006 We stayed at Villa Atlantica from 23 to 30Nov05. Everything was excellent and we had a great time. perfection by Alice Mashaba, South Africa 26 September 2016 My husband and recently stayed at the guesthouse and it was really a pleasant stay. The room was clean and the shared kitchen was well equipped and clean. I will recommend anyone who wants peace and quiet whilst being next to the beach to book the place. Very disapointing after all the "rave" reviews by Travis Glenny, South Africa 20 November 2016 Myself and my partner stayed at this guesthouse on the 23rd and 24th October, I was quite disappointed at this 4* guesthouse after reading all these positive reviews 1) The parking states: ?on site parking/on premises? (as per website) Several times there was no parking spaces, and the parking is not on site, it's on the road. For people that do not need to unpack the entire car this is fine, but don't put incorrect information on the websites 2) The pictures on your site are quite misleading, it looks very private and amazing views ("boasts incredible views of the Atlantic"), which are not quite correct, the view is of the house below (you actually look into their kitchen) and the scattered toys and children's playthings below, I understand this is a house where you live but when the site (campsbay accommodation, bookings.com etc) boast 4 Star Hotel/Boutique Hotel and costs R4200 for 2 nights I do actually expect a little better than this (I think safarinow is the only site that lists it as a Boutique Guesthouse) In 90% of the online photos there's even a picture of a bottle of wine on the majority of the tables in the photos? (as per various websites) this is clearly not part of the welcoming package, 2 toffees thrown onto the bed instead? Really not professional 2) On arrival is the ac should be turned on just before guests arrive, or turn on etc when you show them the room (neither of which was done) and not leave the room stifling hot for the first impressions. Understandably the AC shouldn't be turned and left on the entire time, but as the request of the hotel to approximate arrival time this could well have been done. 3) Information before arriving? Camps bay is alcohol free? This accommodation was booked as a surprise for my partner for our anniversary and I felt very let down that I could not even provide her with a bottle of champagne, I had specifically looked for accommodation with sea views and a Jacuzzi for this as our previous nights where meant to be much less grander than a night in camps bay (this was our final 2 nights before we departed cape town) 4) Hot water? The rooms need a note in them that it takes upwards of 10mins to get hot water into the shower, at first we gave up were not sure that there was even hot water available as after turning each way for 5 mins no hot water was to be found. The response was that I clearly didn't know how to operate a tap in the right direction? 5) Maintenance was being done during the stay which is sometimes understandable but at full rates? The noise and smell of glue etc.. My partner had just finished showering when the contractors just burst through the door without even so much as knocking, now this is totally unacceptable, no notice was given about any of this before or during the stay. And again no owners present to make sure the guests are happy Smaller issues were just the fact that some areas in the rooms had never been wiped, I placed a bag above the cupboards (as there is very little space for baggage) and when I took it down got covered in thick dust, over the bag and myself. If it was a few items as above it really would've gone unnoticed, even just a check in with the owner to see if everything was good and fine, but nothing. Small things add up and although I have never written any negative comments about any establishments I feel this was a big let down to my partner (although she tried to maintain the positives) but more to me as I really tried to give her an amazing anniversary gift which really didn't go as planned. After first sending this letter to the owners to get their response instead of posting a negative comment I did change quite a few comments, although the response from them seemed more cheeky that actual acceptance of the facts. They even offered a 50% discount for a future booking? Why would I have cause to spend more once again to see if now its up to standard? So R1050 then a night to once again stay over at a second rate establishment? Thank you but I will not be back, there are hundreds of more value, beautiful and friendly establishments to visit in this area. convenience by Turid Stacey 02 August 2018 excellent stay , easily accessible to where we needed to go VILLA ATLANTICA BOUTIQUE GUESTHOUSE LOCATION
