Vreugde Gasteplaas offers comfortable self-catering accommodation, surrounded by picturesque scenery, centrally located in the eastern Free State between the towns of Warden and Bethlehem. Accommodation consists of either single, double or family rooms, dormitories and a three bedroom house. Some of the rooms and the house are located away from the facilities, providing adequate peace and privacy. The bigger double and family rooms and dormitories are part of the complex in an octagon building, each leading out to the sunny courtyard. All the rooms, except for the dormitories (coffee & tea station available) are equipped with a small kitchenette with just the minimal essentials to prepare light meals. A communial kitchen is available by prior arrangement at an extra charge. All the rooms have private entrances and access to braai facilities. Remember to bring charcoal and firelighters for a braai. The dormitories can accommodate up to 20 guests each and have access to two shared bathroom facilities (with 7 showers). It is required that children must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times as there are rocks, ponds and small dams on property. Regrettably no pets are allowed.The peaceful farm atmosphere and facilities allow for various options for outdoor and indoor weddings, whether it be outside in nature, under the gazebo in the courtyard, or on the veranda with beautiful views of nature or in the chapel. You have a choice between the smaller banquet hall and the barn for your reception.Vreugde Gasteplaas is also ideal for church camps, training, team building, and small group meetings. This modern, neat and functional facilities are mainly housed in the octagon building with a courtyard, chapel/hall, dining hall/guest lounge, kitchen, separate scullery and ablution facilities. There are a variety of activities in the area for guests to enjoy, such as white-water river rafting, mountain climbing, abseiling, game viewing, and quad bike tours and trails. Clarens, Golden Gate Highlands National Park, Sterkfontein-Dam Nature Reserve, Verkykerskop, and the Northern Drakensberg are all located in the vicinity of a 100 km from the farm, convenient for day trips. A worthwhile visit to the less familiar places of interest that have a fascinating history like Rensburgkop at Swinburne and The Lost Valley near Geluksburg is recommended.
