Walkersons Pastures Village is situated in the Walkersons Private Estate which is World Famous for the 5 Star Walkersons Hotel.
The Estate is 10km outside Dullstroom on the Lydenburg road.
These twin houses where specifically designed to simulate the ambiace of a highveld farmhouse. On entering the house one is struck by the spaciousness of both the living area as well as the bedrooms.
You feel as if you are visiting your grandmothers house out on the farm, with the basic but well equipped open plan kitchen and the cement floors.
Everything about both W108 and W111 is basic but spacious and comfortable.
The houses each sleep 8 people in three bedrooms, each with en-suite bathroom facilities. A fold-away double sleeper couch is available in the lounge which allows occupancy up to 10. The master bedroom has a queen-size bed, while the other two bedrooms feature a double and a single bed.
The two houses are at opposite sides of a small plaza and may be rented individually or together for larger groups. This means that at a push we can accommodate 20 adults between the two houses. Each house is optimally suited for 6 Adults in couples and 4 children. Bedding and towels will be supplied as quoted.
Each house has an open-plan living area, fitted with a wood-burning, slow combustion fireplace which ensures a cosy atmosphere during the cold winter months. Wood is supplied, however guests need to bring charcoal for the braai.
The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering with a stove, oven, microwave, fridge-freezer, tea and coffee-making facilities, as well as a dishwasher. Cutlery and crockery is supplied for ten places. Guests can enjoy their meals at the large dining table or relax in the comfortable lounge.
Please note there is TV wired for DSTV. Guests must please bring their own decoder and DSTV card.
Security is of prime concern. Each house has a lock-up garage and the surrounds are safe and secure for children. The estate is under access control 24/7 and has a regular security patrol, day and night. Please note that NO PETS are allowed. The houses are serviced Monday to Sunday, excluding Wednesdays. Service is also available on public holidays.
Walkersons Private Estate has a trout fishing permit system, each of our two houses has four free fishing permits included in the daily rate, which give guests access to 18 stocked trout dams for fly-fishing. Permits must be carried on the person fishing and shown to security on request.
The estate replaces lost permits at a cost of R500, which will be recovered from the guest making the booking if lost or not returned to the house. There are strict trout fishing rules, which must be adhered to. There is a catch and release policy, while each house may only consume two fish per day.
The estate has easy walking footpaths along the lunsklip river and the dams in the valley as well a more challenging hiking trail up the mountain where game- and bird-viewing can also be enjoyed. All the internal roads are paved and are ideal for cycling and jogging.
Walkersons is an up market private estate, with very strict conduct rules regarding the civilized conduct of owners and their guests. Please be advised that when you enter the estate you will sign an acknowledgement that you will abide by the rules. The estate manager has the authority from the owner to request guests at W111 and W108 to leave the estate with immediate effect, for inconsiderate, disorderly or noisy conduct. No refund of booking fees will be considered under such a circumstance.
