Weldon HousePiesang Valley, Western Cape, South Africa Guest House from R 350 | R 350 |
Weldon House is a beautiful old historical manor house offering accommodation where old world charm marries convenience and simplicity. The manor house dates back to the early 1900s, and is set on a hill with magnificent views of the ocean and the mountains.
Steeped in history, the rooms speak to old and young, as centuries of love and laughter have built walls that stand strong more than a 100 years later. Beautiful yellowwood floors and sash windows welcome visitors who soon learn that the house is for living. An old oak tree sways in the wind, creaking as it begs for company and promises shade to those who visit it. Trees provide a picnic spot whilst temporary residents overlook the bay and Robberg Nature Reserve.
The property was also home to a general dealer and then a post office. This corrugated structure with solid old wood shutters and sash windows, reminds one of the smell of Boxer tobacco, Wilson toffees and bottles of sweets on the counter, old men buying ?moer' coffee and telling stories, and children playing hide and seek.
The accommodation a mix of old and new- embracing the memories of family, Sunday lunches and farm breakfasts. So whether you are looking for a room with a view, or a self-catering home to accommodate a family or two, Weldon House is waiting to write a part of your story.
The Manor house consists of five large bedrooms, including two family rooms, each with its own en- suite accommodating between two and five guests. There is a breakfast area and reading nook cum sitting area for our temporary residents.
