Zi Villa Zanzibar

Zi Villa is a unique and unusual property situated on the north east coast of Zanzibar, in the district of Matemwe. Zi Villa offers a wonderful blend of intriguing architecture, a glorious beach, warm blue sea and the best diving in East Africa on your doorstep.

Zi Villa is a truly unique, exotic and enchanting home, that can accommodate up to a maximum of fourteen guests in four en-suite rooms. All of the rooms are air-conditioned and have ceiling fans and mosquito nets.

The Sultan's Suite upstairs has doors leading onto a private outside deck. This suite is equipped with a Jacuzzi bath, a separate shower, and a toilet. A huge bed fit for a Sultan lies under mosquito netting. There is also a TV with VHS.

The King Suite, downstairs has glass doors leading directly onto the wooden deck at the pool. This bedroom is furnished with a king-size bed, and a separate sofa couch which converts to a double bed. There is also a shower and toilet en suite. The Queen Suite, also downstairs, contains two queen-size beds under mosquito netting, and also has glass doors leading directly onto the wooden deck at the pool. Zi Villa Suite, located downstairs and adjoining the bar, contains a king-size bed under mosquito netting. The toilet and shower are accessed through the adjoining bar.

There is a huge lounge with four large sofas, a TV set, music system and library. The lounge leads onto a pool deck through three different glass double doors. A guest toilet and basin adjoins the lounge. There are two options for dining; outdoors overlooking the beach, or indoors in the lounge.

Zi Villa is staffed by a manager and foreman, a housekeeper, a night watchman, and two resident chefs. The villa is rented on a full board basis and meals are prepared and served by the two resident chefs.

There is a mini-bus permanently available for hire at the Villa with a driver who knows the island so is able to take you north to the restaurants and beaches, south to the spice plantations and town for souvenir shopping and sightseeing or to the extreme south where one can swim with the dolphins. The manager can organize a boat anytime you need it and they will collect you from the beach directly in front of the house. There is a large selection of fins and masks in every size available at the house, which you are welcome to use for snorkelling from the boat or whenever you like. He can also organize scuba diving if you have any divers in the group. There are also canoes and paddle skis available for guests' use.
